Najmo's Work 5/3/13

The River’s Journey

Tumbling in pure delight,

The river was full of joy, happiness, and was carefree

It had enough energy to take of in flight,

Just like a bumbling baby.

But its mood soon turned sour,

It became as sombre as a man awaiting bad news,

For it had passed a pauper’s funeral, one without flowers,

He grumbled at the unfairness of it all.

Slowly, it grew choppy and rough,

Crash! Bang! Tumble!

Releasing its wrath until it had had enough,

Just like a tantruming toddler.

Serene and poised once more,
It was an elegant French lady, calm and collected.

Beautiful and tranquil, it flowed towards the seashore,

Elegant as a swan.
