The River’s Journey
Tumbling in pure delight,
The river was full of joy,
happiness, and was carefree
It had enough energy to take
of in flight,
Just like a bumbling baby.
But its mood soon turned
sour,
It became as sombre as a man
awaiting bad news,
For it had passed a pauper’s
funeral, one without flowers,
He grumbled at the
unfairness of it all.
Slowly, it grew choppy and
rough,
Crash! Bang! Tumble!
Releasing its wrath until it
had had enough,
Just like a tantruming
toddler.
Serene and poised once more,
It was an elegant French lady, calm and collected.
It was an elegant French lady, calm and collected.
Beautiful and tranquil, it
flowed towards the seashore,
Elegant as a swan.
